The first month of 2010 is done! Time for an evaluation.
PROJECT 2010
We launched a new project this year. A BIG thanks to Kenneth Yu, Paolo Chikiamco, Yvette Tan, Elbert Or and Carlo Vergara for doing the talks and being very supportive of the project (They helped spread the word about the project, too!). I just love these people! <3 Thanks to them, the launch at Ateneo last January 30 was a success! I had hoped we would have more audience than that, but the Cosplay was happening at the same time. What could I expect?
Project 20:10 is a campaign to get people to pledge to support the works of 20 local creators, and create a piece of work of at least 10 pages long, before the year is up. If anyone is interested in joining the Project 20:10 endeavor, you can visit

TALECRAFT
Yes! We're releasing a new game this year! TALECRAFT: THE DUEL. I'm getting someone else to do the game design for this game. And the art. We're targeting June for the release, or at least the beta test. This time, it's structured more like a TCG compared to the original Talecraft game. It still involves stories, characters and storytelling, though. That's what we love about Talecraft.
DRAWING
Earlier this year, one of my friends said he would challenge himself to draw everyday. It doesn't matter what. As long as he draws. I joined him in his challenge. And so, even if my schedule sometimes prevents me from really doing it everyday, I still get to draw more. I manage to do it almost everyday.

So, on the drawing part of my plan this year, I'm quite successful. I'm drawing. Plus I'm drawing a comic. I'm on pencils page 21. Not bad for my first month, I think.

READING
I made Project 20:10, therefore, I need to pledge, as well. I don't have my complete list of 20 authors yet, but I intend to read Dean Alfar before the month is out. And I'll get myself Yvette's book, too. That's two authors down. Eighteen to go for the rest of the year. Plus I'll read some more. Not just local. I love to read. The thing is, once I pick up a book, I won't put it down until I'm done! And that's usually at 5 in the morning. But I need to read more.
WRITING
It's been, what, two years that I keep telling myself I'd write for Tagalog Romance Novels, just for the heck of it. It's only a hundred pages, for crying out loud! And I already have the perfect story for it.

I'll do that, but maybe not this month. For this month, I intend to write for Usok.
LIFESTYLE
This is the part of the year's plans that I'm not managing to accomplish! I told myself I'd exercise. But the only exercise I have is the short walk from CSB's SDA building to DLSU's Gokongwei. Also, I told myself I'd sleep earlier. But it's just so hard! Gah!
Fine, fine. I shall try again for February.
LEARNING
We usually say that there are ordinary people, and there are geeks. But there's actually another set of people. The jacks. Geeks are people who are into a particular thing almost obsessively. Jacks are into everything but never too deeply. I'm a jack. I enjoy variety. It gives me pleasure to learn new things in a short span of time, then move on to the next. So this year, I intend to learn to speak a new language, learn to play a musical instrument, and learn a new skill. Here's the plan:
Language: Sign Language
Instrument: Violin
Skill: Driving
TRAVELING
My sisters and I have booked our trip to Boracay! That takes care of the year's local trip. We're still debating whether to go to Europe on a tour, or to China on a Disney Adventure Trip this year. I'd say we go to Germany on a Disney Adventure Trip. But let's see.
That's it for now!
